Life Insurance and Protection

With the right protection in place you can provide for you and your family to prevent worries about your finances.

Do I Need Life Insurance?

Depending on your personal situation, life insurance is highly likely to be advantageous. Life insurance provides financial support to your family in case of the very worst happening, allowing peace of mind for you and the people you care about. Although a certain monetary amount would be paid across a specific term, your family may also be eligible for a lump sum payment (if you are to pass away within a specific short period, for example) which could help with any immediate costs.

There are many different life insurance policies and our experts can help find you the right deal. For example, some life insurance policies may pay out an equal amount every month, no matter what point you pass away into your policy. However, this may not suit your personal circumstances. This is why, if you want to ensure your family is covered in the event of an accident or terminal illness, then contact one of our life insurance experts so you discuss the right policy for you.

Life Insurance

Life insurance protects you in the event of your premature death or diagnosis of a terminal illness. It is paid in a lump sum and is used to ensure your mortgage is repaid and the costs are not passed to your dependents or loved ones.

Critical Illness Cover

Critical Illness Cover provides cover in the event of contracting a specified critical illness. It is paid as a lump sum on diagnosis.

Income Protection Insurance

Income Protection provides cover if you are incapable of working due to an accident or long term Illness, this replaces a
pre-agreed level of income until the end of the policy term or until you are able to work again.

Mortgage Protection Insurance

Mortgage protection also known as sickness, accident and unemployment cover. It will give you peace of mind in the knowledge that in the event of redundancy or illness your mortgage payments will be made and your home will be protected.

Most regular mortgages do not have any protection insurance included, it’s important to decide what kind of cover you need. Sickness, accident and unemployment cover insures you against changes in your situation due to redundancy, disability, or illness. Usually payments are made for up to a maximum of 12 months. If you would like to be protected for longer you may want to consider taking out income protection.

Buildings and Contents Insurance

Buildings and Contents insurance can be split into two different products:

Buildings insurance protects your house, the bricks and mortar against insured risks such as fire, flood, subsidence, earthquake and more.

Contents insurance protects your belongings and furniture against all of the above and also burglary theft and more.

Both policies can be extended to cover additional risks if required.

You can also protect high risk items such as bikes and tools in sheds and jewellery and credit cards whilst you are out and about.

Prices vary depending on amount to be insured, post code area and your previous claims experience.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

There may be a fee for mortgage advice. The actual amount you pay will depend upon your circumstances. The fee is up to 1% but a typical fee is 0.3% of the amount borrowed.
